So, what's popular and what's not?
A touch of wood in your worktop…
Wooden worktops are becoming more popular again as people realise how beautiful they can look when done right. Wood is durable and can be stain-resistant, but it's not scratch-resistant and doesn’t withstand large amounts of moisture well.
We’re seeing a rise in ‘hybrid’ worktops, where wood accents will be used in smaller doses to add interest to a kitchen.

Quartz vs. granite worktops
We’re seeing many people choosing quartz over granite. Whilst granite is slightly more heat resistant, quartz wins in the stain resistance stakes and is also more durable. It’s less prone to chipping, due to its manmade properties, so if you have a big family and you cook regularly, quartz is a great choice.
Budget-friendly laminate worktops
If you want something budget-friendly but still beautiful, laminate might be the solution! Laminate has come a long way since the days of what used to look like sticky-back plastic. These days, it imitates the likes of quartz and granite much more closely for both its durability and aesthetic.
Seamless worktop waterfalls and stunning splashbacks
If you want to make an impact, mixing materials up is trending. We’ve already mentioned part-wood worktops, but other trends include waterfall worktops, seamless worktops and splashbacks, or stainless steel appliances contrasting with natural stone worktops.
