3 Examples of £15k Kitchens
Designing kitchens would be the easiest part of our job if money were no object. We could sit and design kitchens all day to our hearts’ content!
But of course, life and reality are not like that at all. The challenging part of the kitchen design process is working around the nooks and crannies of a client's existing space and providing the perfect kitchen – to their budget.
We often find ourselves designing kitchens at around the £15k mark (excluding installation).
Given this is such a common ask, we thought you might find it interesting to see what these kitchen designs look like.

The Dust Grey Porter Kitchen
This Second Nature kitchen, with a handleless rail, is pictured here in dust grey. It is completed with Hotpoint appliances and a 20mm quartz worktop in new yarra.
It's a fine balance to create a kitchen that's on budget. It is important to remain realistic about what is affordable, while not dampening the vision for that living space you’ve always dreamed of.
There are elements that shouldn't be compromised on, like the kitchen worktops and furniture. A kitchen should be built to last, regardless of budget, and that's something we're passionate about at The Pentland Kitchen Company.

Appliances for a £15k Kitchen
Kitchen appliances have broad scope as far as cost goes, and swapping to lower budget options, like opting for Hotpoint over NEFF, is an excellent place to start.
If reducing the overall budget is a requirement, I advise starting with the integrated appliances like refrigeration, dishwashers and washing machines. As these are hidden away, you don't need to reveal the brand names to visitors.
Next, consider stripping back the 'nice-to-have' appliances such as instant boiling water taps, pop-up sockets, or wine cabinets.

Future Kitchen Facelifts
Consider a clever design that provides easy ways to update down the line, such as a neutral colour pallet and timeless styles. Whites and greys work well here.
This is the Porter matt dove grey with 30mm calacatta aurum perimeter worktop, solid oak island worktop, Neff hob and oven, and Hotpoint integrated appliances. All for £15K.

The £15k Shaker Kitchen
Another variable cost is splashbacks. Traditional kitchen tiles work well, and they are very budget-friendly:
Above is the Belsay graphite shaker from Second Nature, finished with a calacatta white quartz worktop, brass handles, tap and shelf brackets, and a new oak effect LVT floor.
Great Value Storage Solutions
Another budget breaker can be storage solutions. Simple deep drawers and standard cabinets will be just fine if you can't stretch to all-singing-all-dancing spice racks, larders or corner units.
